Coronavirus Update 17.3.20

Dear Families

This email is to update you on the situation at school. We know it was not possible or sensible for everyone but the vast majority of our children were in school today. Only three staff were off, including Mr Roberts and his knee!

Today’s update:

  • School remains open for the foreseeable future. A visiting music teacher told Year 4 we are shutting on Friday but this is not true! Or it might be; we really don’t know yet. If a decision is made to close, we will let you know immediately.
  • All families and staff must follow the Government guidelines and stay at home for 14 days if anyone in their household has a temperature or a new, persistent cough.
  • If you let the office know that you are self isolating from today, you don’t have to let them know again tomorrow morning.
  • After School Clubs and Shining Stars are continuing as usual this week.
  • All football matches have been cancelled from now until the end of term.
  • Please don’t forget we are changing our payment system over the Easter holiday. Please get payments up to date so that this can happen seamlessly. Thank you.
  • We are preparing online work for children to complete if and when we close. This will not be ready until school does shut as staff are busy with their ‘business as usual’ at the moment. If your child is already at home, please work on their number facts and times tables until they are instant and read, read, read! There is guidance on Maths from our recent parent meetings on our website.

Thank you everyone for your support at this difficult time. Please let us know if we can help you in anyway. Most importantly, take care everyone!

Sarah Shirras
