Tender – Healthy Relationships Project

As you will be aware, we are embarking on a whole school project supported by the charity Tender https://tender.org.uk/.

As part of this work we are seeking views from parents and carers, working with a group of Year 5 children who will become ambassadors for Healthy Relationships, staff training for all adults in school and many other activities which promote how to develop and create Healthy Relationships.

Attached is a toolkit designed for parents and carers who have children in Years 4, 5 and 6.

This booklet is designed for parents and carers of children in Years 1, 2 and 3

Well done to Year 6

A massive well done to Year 6 for their approach to SATs this week.

This is what their adults had to say in assembly today:

All of them deserve a shout out this week for the incredible attitude and effort shown during this SATs week. They worked tirelessly, methodically and positively throughout each test and I could not be more proud. We’ve been saying that all we expect from you is to do your best and that’s exactly what you did.

Special thanks to Claire and the team in the kitchen. Claire supported us with providing a breakfast each day for the children and today she surprised them all with well done cakes!

Enjoy the rest this weekend Year 6. We will back on it next week!!

Staffing Update

Evie Richardson who has worked in Year 3 and 4 for the past couple of years has been successful in a new role within the NHS. We wish her all the very best in this role and thank her for all the support she has given to the children at St. William’s.

Evie will be leaving St. William’s at half term.

Dropping off and parking

Polite reminder to ensure we are dropping off children and parking vehicles safely and following the law.

If all adults remember to do this, it will make the arrival and leaving of school smoother for everyone.

Please take the opportunity to park further away from the school or where possible use other modes of transport.

Our gates are open between 8.30am and 8.50am with the aim of having a gradual arrival to school.

The front office should not be used for dropping off children unless you are after 8.50am. Office staff may ask you to use the gates if this happens – please avoid them having to say this by using the designated gates.

We thank you for your support in helping the school to run smoothly.

Year 6 Leavers’ Assembly

Year 6 parents and carers, we kindly invite you to a leavers assembly on Wednesday 17th July at 2pm. This will be in the stage hall. Please arrive via the school office.

Year 5 Performing Arts Workshop

On Wednesday 22nd May Year 5 will be going to Thorpe St Andrew High School for a performing arts workshop. They will be walking there with their adults and returning to school for lunch as normal.

Please ensure they have a suitable coat as the weather is changeable.

Tender Survey

If you haven’t had a chance to complete this, please do. It will really help us make the most our of this project.

Survey WILL STILL BE AVAIALBLE AFTER 13.5.24.

Many thanks

Ordering and Paying for School Lunches.

Just a reminder of the process for ordering school meals. Bookings need to be made in advance using School Money. This then needs to be paid for at the time of booking unless you are entitled to Free School Meals. Free School Meals are either Universal Free School Meals (for everyone) in Reception, Year 1 and 2 or means tested in Years 3-6. If a child hasn’t ordered a meal and orders it with us at school in the morning, families need to go online and pay for this as soon as they can. If not, the amount owed can increase quite quickly and lead to families being in arrears to the school. If these arrears get too big or are not cleared, we may need to ask families to clear this debt before any further meals can be ordered. Thank you.
