April Safeguarding Newsletter

In this month’s edition, there is a focus on screen time reduction. Please have a read and if you would like further support around this topic, please get in touch. It is very important that we all work together to ensure children are happy and healthy and that excessive screen time is not negatively impacting our young people.

Parking around school

We have received complaints from neighbours regarding parents parking on both sides of Broom Ave and Gorse Road when picking up their children. This blocks the road and could hinder emergency vehicles from accessing the area. Please respect our neighbours and park thoughtfully.

Year 6 Leavers’ Hoodies and disco

As our Year 6 start their last term in primary school, we will mark their leaving in a number of ways. One is that leavers’ hoodies are now available to buy through school money.

Another is that the SWA organise a leavers’ disco. This year it is on Thursday, 18th July from 6.30pm-8pm. We are really grateful for their work on this; look out for more details soon!

Jewellery in School

Reminder: children are only allowed to wear stud earrings and watches. Thank you for you support in this matter.

Lunch price changes

Edwards and Blake have informed us of some changes regarding meal prices. Due to ongoing food inflation and an increased minimum wage, they are raising prices. Starting June 1st, 2024, the price for a paid meal will be £2.53.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. Thank you.
